Numbers,
Oh how much they mean to us,

You and I
We use them daily
Adults and kids likewise

Counting,
Measuring
Without them we are nothing

Natural numbers,
The most familiar ones
Counting numbers we call them

Positive and negative numbers
When combined together with zero
Sums up to integers
A new mind boggling term

Numbers can be rounded
But it never comes alone
Hand in hand are fractions and decimals
Rational and real numbers we call them
Not forgetting complex numbers
That we learn in tertiery education
Oh how complex it is
Living up to its name

Engineers use them
So do doctors and lawyers
And definately accountants
We can never run from numbers
No matter which occupation or field we are in

Without numbers
we are at a lost
Without numbers
buildings will collapse
Without numbers
people will die
Without numbers
the world will be in chaos

Without numbers
How do we divide
Or rather
What do we divide

Only with numbers can we
Sum, substract, multiply and divide

With numbers
We can count sheeps to sleep
Locking imsomnia away

With numbers
We have songs like
Ten Little Indian Boys

With numbers
We can play games
With dice
Or hide and seek
Calling out numbers while
others search for a good spot

And hence with numbers
There are
Telephone numbers,
Car plates
BMI
Permutation
Combination
And all that sorts

With numbers
Come our salary (yippee)
And so tag along
Our dearest friends
Bills and Tax

With numbers
Our lives are made complete

And with numbers
I present to you

We have day, month and year
Together with it
We have hours, minutes and seconds
To live our lives to the fullest
With the people we have close at our hearts
